My older brother, soon to be 90 was in the service And we moved from a real small to Houston so Daddy could work in the Shipyard to help out. And, the women did whatever they could do to help. Everyone pulled together then, not like the people now.I had many relatives and family friends in that war also. Two never made it home. I would love to win this book. When we went to Germany as tourists after high school, our kind bus driver was a former prisoner of war in Arizona. Suddenly, every time I saw a WW2 movie that blew up those "nasty Germans", I saw his smiling face and knew it wasn't quite so simple.LeAnne Hardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11433010038077925237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3746822123336250115.post-32436227132101685492015-04-21T12:01:30.252-05:002015-04-21T12:01:30.252-05:00Hi, rubynreba! My friend's grandma fled Poland (or something like that) during WWII. And I know that Robert Clary, Lebeau from Hogan's Heroes, survived a concentration camp. I'm glad that WWII books are big. Amish fiction has never really grabbed me; they all seem to have the same plot. WWII fiction seems to have A LOT more variety though. Right now I'm reading the Thoene Zion Covenant series. It's amazing!!! Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12335689970676214959noreply@blogger.com
